Principals

Liz Amberly* (Susannah Bainbridge) - Liz originated the role of The Tory Leader's Wife, Susannah in Fair Liberty's Call, first performing it at the DUPLEX in 2000. Other credits include: EST, Musical Theater Works, Promenade Theater, Variety Arts, Town Hall, Circle Rep Lab, Artpark, Disney as well as independent films and "One Life to Live". She can currently be seen in national magazine ads for Discover Card. She is a playwright/screenwriter in addition to being a performer, and she is a member of the WorkShop Theater Company. Kate Beckman* (Widow Nan Edwards) - Kate is equally at home as an acting coach, or behind the camera as a free-lance production photographer, or as a performer. With varied experience as a producer, director, designer, and stage manager, performing is her first love. Her work has taken her throughout the United States and England with favorite projects and roles in Carmen, Kiss Me Kate, Tintypes, A Moon for the Misbegotten, A Little Night Music, Barnum and Nunsense. Kate enjoys a busy concert and cabaret schedule and has been a soloist with the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra and the Penn State Men's Glee Club. Her new cabaret act, Sounds Like a Kate Tune, will preview this fall.
Leslie Feagan* (Mr. Oliver Hallam) - Leslie thinks sometimes it's not what you do, but with whom. He's done Fiddler and Sound of Music with Theodore Bikel; Shenandoah with John Cullum, John Raitt and Ed Ames; South Pacific with Richard Kiley; Guys & Dolls with Nathan Lane, Faith Prince and Jamie Farr; Anything Goes with Patti LuPone, Leslie Uggams and Carolee Carmello; Joseph...Dreamcoat with David Cassidy; and Annie with Reid Shelton, Harve Presnell and Jane Connell. As a founding member of WBAI's Gotham Radio Players, New York audiences have enjoyed his "Stark Rock: Manly Detective at Large"; and "Dr. Alberts" in Chicken Heart.
Ethan Freeman (Richard Bainbridge) - Since leaving for Europe over twenty years ago to further his operatic studies, Ethan, a native of Eastchester, N.Y. has become one of the leading international musical-theater performers. Among his credits: Over 1000 performances as "The Phantom" in The Phantom of the Opera - in Vienna, London, and Toronto. The title roles in the German premiere of Jekyll & Hyde (Germany's Musical Artist of 1999), "The Beast" in the Euopean premiere of Beauty and the Beast in Vienna, "Javert" in Les Miserables in London, "Lucheni" in the world premiere of Elisabeth (the most successful German-language musical ever.) Gus/Growltiger in Cats (Hamburg,) and, recently, "Leopold Mozart" in Mozart-the Musical in Hamburg, "Scrooge" in Of the Spirit of Christmas at Berlin's renowned Theater of the West, and "Kurt Korn" in the world-premiere of a new musical Finix in Vienna. Ethan has appeared as a concert soloist in 10 different countries including performances for the BBC ("Hajj" in Kismet ) and with Skitch Henderson and his N.Y. Pops Orchestra in Japan and in Carnegie Hall. He has recorded a variety of CD's including 3 original cast recordings (Beauty, Elisabeth, Jekyll), studio recordings (Brigadoon, On the Town, Phantom, Sweet Charity, Grease) and a solo album With You. He is thrilled to be returning home to take part in this exiting new project!
Chris Hall* (Johnny Edwards) - Last year Chris could be seen as "Gaylord Ravenal" in the national tour of Show Boat. Other credits include Hey Mr Producer! The Musical World of Cameron Mackintosh. Favorite past roles have included "Smudge" in Forever Plaid, "Johnny" in The Unsinkable Molly Brown and "Billy Bigelow" in Carousel. Last Christmas he had the privilege of working with Sheldon Harnick on the musical adaptation of A Wonderful Life and, most recently, originated the role of Simon in the world premiere of Magna Carta at the New York State Theatre Institute. A Southerner at heart, Chris comes to the New York area via Atlanta. He would like to send love and thanks to his supportive family there!
Ashanti Johnson* (Maggie) - Ashanti orginated the role of Maggie in 2000 at the DUPLEX Cabaret Theatre and is proud to be reprising it for a second time. She is a Queens native with a B.A. in theatre from Fordham University. Credits; BROADWAY: Saturday Night Fever (Understudy) booth singer. OFF-BROADWAY: The Mikado ensemble. REGIONAL: Little Shop of Horrors Chiffon/Crystal, Beehive "Tina Turner", "Diana Ross", "Aretha Franklyn", Hair tribe member, Guys & Dolls "Sarah Brown". TOURS: The Lion King of Mali "The Lion Spirit", A Christmas Carol Caroling Troup caroler. She has also been seen on "Family Matters", "Showtime at the Apollo", and the Season I Episode I of "American Idol" (final 45). Much thanks to Pam, David and Mindy for this opportunity. Heather Carolyn Ullsvik* (Alyce Hallam) - Heather is excited to be working on this historical new show. On another war's front, Heather played "Katie" in the independent feature Red Betsy, a WWII home-front film running currently at U.S. festivals. Recently, she had a 'bang up' time playing "Annie Oakley" for Mill Mountain Theatre in Virginia and enjoyed portraying "Emilia" in a NY production of The Winter's Tale. Other on-camera work includes: Nash Bridges, the BBC's Wisconsin Death Trip, and a new untitled feature. Favorite past roles include: "Eliza" with San Francisco Lamplighter's My Fair Lady, "Irina" in Three Sisters, "LaLume" with Chicago's Light Opera Works, "Silver Dollar" in Ballad of Baby Doe, ""MaryJo" in A Piece of My Heart, and "Rose Crabtree" in the Debut of Jackson Hole's Petticoat Rules. This spring Heather's group, The Evergreen Ensemble, gave cabaret performances and made a recording.
Kyle Wrentz* (Caleb) - Kyle is thrilled to join this company and work on this exciting new project. His stage credits include the LA Company of The Lion King where he played the swing as well as the role of "Simba". Regionally, he has been seen at The Hartford Stage Company, Maine State Music Theatre and a host of other venues. Theatrical highlights include "Starbuck" in 110 In The Shade, the "MC" in Cabaret and "Oberon" in Midsummer... He holds a BFA in Theater from The Hartt School. As always, he thanks his family and friends for their support, especially his mother. He dedicates this performance to the memory of his father.

Joseph Hoffman

Joe is excited to be working with the cast and crew of Fair Liberty's Call. He was most recently seen as Tobias in Sweeney Todd with Hofstra USA Productions. A Hofstra University student, Joe is happy to be completing his Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology. Theatrical credits include The Fantasticks (Matt), Forever Plaid (Jinx), The Pirates of Penzance (Frederic) and Rocky Horror (Brad). Film/Television credits include L.I.E., Kate & Leopold and MTV Music Video Awards. Special thanks to family and friends for all their support.

Marissa Katz

Marissa is a recent graduate of Boston University's Vocal Performance Program with a BM Degree in Music. With the DiCapo Opera Summer festival she has performed scenes from Elixir of Love (Adina,) and Werther (Sophie.) With Opera Lirica in Orvieto Italy and the Indiana University School of Music Workshop she has performed scenes from The Magic Flute (Papagena,) Don Giovanni (Zerlina,) The Pirates of Penzance (Mabel,) and Candide (Cunegonde.) Marissa would like to thank her parents, family, and friends for their boundless love and support.

Juliet Markowitz

Juliet, from Hingham Massachusetts, will be entering her senior year at Hofstra as a BFA theater major and dance minor. She is thrilled to be perfoming in "Fair Liberty's Call" and was seen last summer in Hofstra USA's production of "Gypsy" (Agnes/Spirit of Burlesque). Favorite past musical credits include "Tom Sawyer" (Becky), "Anything Goes" (Chastity), and "42nd Street" (Maggie Jones). Juliet thanks her amazing cast, production staff, and crew. Rebecca Posteraro

Rebecca is a graduate of SUNY Pruchase Conservatory of Music with a BFA in Opera. She was chosen to be an artist-in-residence at Dicapo Opera Theater in Manhattan and has sung in dozens of operas, operettas and musicals. Recent roles include Micaela (Carmen), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Pamina (The Magic Flute), Princess Zara (Utopia), Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), Julie Jordan (Carousel), Guenevere (Camelot) and Tuptim (The King and I). Love to kevin and family for all their support over the years.

Matt Santeramo

Matt is happy to be returning to this project having worked on Fair Liberty during the summer of 2002. A recent graduate and vocal performance major, he has enjoyed a career rich in musical theatre and opera credits. Most recently Matt performed the role of "Papageno" in The Magic Flute and will soon be seen as "Matt" in Broadhollow's production of 'The Fantasticks'.
